Banana-Chocolate Snack Smoothie
This is definitely a staple for me. It’s not a full-size smoothie, so it’s usually used as an addition to a smaller meal, or when I need a snack and want a bit more than just a banana.
And it’s a great way to beat the ice cream cravings. Ben & Jerry’s Chunky Monkey used to be my treat of choice, and bananas and chocolate will probably always be one of my favourite combinations.

Recipe: Banana-Chocolate Snack Smoothie
Summary: This banana chocolate smoothie is closer in consistency to a thick chocolate milk, unlike most of my meal-sized smoothies that are more like milkshake thick.
Ingredients
- 1 ripe banana
- 2 tbsp raw cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup rice milk
- 3-4 ice cubes
Instructions
- Blend and enjoy. (Sometimes I add a handful of baby spinach too, but I just had a big salad for lunch!)

Makes one small smoothie, clocking in at approximately 175 calories.

Deliciously refreshing! My little girl will love to prepare this with her apron on…we’ll surely have a great time bonding in the kitchen.

Staple for me too. Zaps those pesky cravings and makes for a nice pick me up. I like to add maca too. Gorgeous photography and styling Danielle.
Thanks Nicholette! My boyfriend brought some maca home not long ago, but I haven’t really tried it yet. I’ll have to check it out.
